Ingredients list for Tequila Fired Chipotle King Prawns

  • 8-10 King prawns deveined and slit lengthwise
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Chipotle in adobo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Mixed bell peppers finely chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Fresh coriander finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons Tequila
  • for garnishing Lettuce leaves
  • for greasing Lemon wedges


  1. In a bowl marinate the prawns with salt,one teaspoon lemon juice, chipotle sauce and refrigerate for ten minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onions and sauté till they turn translucent.
  3. Add bell peppers and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add marinated prawns mixture and sauté for two-three minutes over medium heat.
  5. Add lemon juice and coriander. Mix well.
  6. Pour tequila in a ladle and heat it over gas flame for about thirty seconds and add it to the prawns. Mix well and remove from heat.
  7. Serve on the bed of lettuce leaves garnished with lemon wedges and serve hot.
