Ingredients list for Tamatar Pyaaz Aur Chane Ki Dal

  • 1/2 cup Split Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked
  • 1 large Tomato chopped
  • 1 large Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions and saute till translucent.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt and saute for a minute.
  3. Add tomatoes and cover the lid and cook till the tomatoes gets cooked.
  4. Add the drained dal and then cover and cook for two minutes. Add cumin powder and mix well.
  5. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
