Ingredients list for Sweet Cheedai

  • 1 cup Rice soaked for 30 minutes and drained
  • 1/2 cup Jaggery (gur) grated
  • 1 tablespoon Split black gram flour (urad dal ka atta)
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Scraped Coconut
  • 1/8 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • for deep-frying Oil

Method

  1. Grind the rice with jaggery coarsely without using water and transfer into a bowl.
  2. Add black gram flour, coconut and cardamom powder and knead into stiff dough.
  3. Divide the dough into twelve equal portions and shape into small balls and press them slightly.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, slide in the cheedai and deep-fry till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
