By Sanjeev Kapoor 10 Jun 2014 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Yam, Potatoes Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients 400 grams yam, peeled and sliced 2 large potatoes, boiled 2 tablespoons ghee 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 /2 teaspoons sesame seeds (til) 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder optional 1 1/2 teaspoons red chilli powder Rock salt (sendha namak) to taste 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves Method Boil suran till done. Cut into small cubes. Reserve cooking liquour. Cut one boiled potato into small cubes and mash the other. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. As they begin to change colour add sesame and suran cubes. Mix well and add potato cubes, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Add cooking liquor and stir. Stir in mashed potato to thicken the gravy. Add rock salt to taste.
