Ingredients for Spinach Feta Spirals Recipe

  • Spinach leaves blanched 1 cup

  • Feta cheese 30 grams

  • Oil 2 teaspoons

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Medium onion finely chopped 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed 2 teaspoons

  • Phyllo pastry sheets 10-12

  • Butter melted 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and onion, mix and sauté till fragrant and translucent.

Step 2

Add spinach and mix well. Add salt and mix. Add crushed black peppercorns and mix well.

Step 3

Add feta cheese, mash with the back of the spoon and mix. Set aside to cool down to room temperature.

Step 4

Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease a baking tray.

Step 5

Brush butter in between 6 phyllo sheets kept one over the other. Similarly brush butter in between remaining 6 phyllo sheets kept one over the other.

Step 6

Once all the layers are brushed with butter, spread the prepared spinach mixture on top in a single line on one end. Roll into a cylinder till you reach the centre of the philo sheet and cut. Brush the open edge with butter to seal. Make more rolls similarly.

Step 7

Roll the cylinders into spirals. Arrange them on a baking tray and brush with butter. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.

Step 8

Bring the tray out of the oven, arrange the spirals on serving platter and serve warm.
