Ingredients list for Shrimp Spring Rolls-Cook Smart

  • 8 Shrimps shelled and deveined with tail intact
  • 8 Spring roll sheets
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 Spring onion bulb
  • 1 Fresh red chilli
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons Cornflour
  • 1 Egg


  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Finely chop spring onion bulb and place in a mixing bowl. Finely chop fresh red chilli and add to the bowl. Grate ginger into the bowl.
  3. Add sesame oil, salt, shrimps and lemon juice and mix well. Add cornflour and mix well.
  4. Break egg into a small bowl and beat well.
  5. Place a spring roll sheet on the worktop. Place a marinated shrimp diagonally at one end keep the tail out of the sheet and roll folding the two sides over, till you reach the end. Apply egg at the open end generously and seal. Make remaining spring rolls similarly.
  6. Gently slide them into the hot oil and deep-fry on medium heat till golden all around. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve hot.
