Ingredients for Shakkarkand ka Halwa Recipe

  • Sweet Potatoes grated 6-8 medium

  • Khoya 5 tablespoons

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Khoya / mawa grated 1 cup

  • Cashewnuts chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Almonds chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Pistachios chopped 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat 4 tbsps ghee in a non-stick pan, add sweet potatoes and saute for 12-15 minutes.

Step 2

Add green cardamom powder, sugar and cook, stirring continuously, till the sugar dissolves completely.

Step 3

Add khoya and mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Heat the remaining ghee in another non-stick pan, add cashewnuts, almonds, pistachios and sauté till light golden. Add the nuts to the halwa.

Step 5

Transfer into serving bowls and serve.
