Ingredients list for Shakkarkand Chaat

  • 6-8 medium Sweet potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Black salt (kala namak)
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped

Method

  1. Peel and cut sweet potatoes into half inch sized cubes. Dry roast cumin seeds and grind to a fine powder. Grind garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves and mint leaves to a fine paste.
  2. Mix together cooked sweet potato cubes, ground paste, roasted cumin powder, black salt, salt, crushed peppercorns, lemon juice and chopped onion. Toss well and serve at room temperature.
