Ingredients list for Shahi Tukra and Moong Dal Halwa Canapes
- 6-7 White Bread Slices
- 1 cup Skinless Green Gram soaked
- 6 tablespoons Ghee
- 2-3 cups Milk
- 1 cup (400 gms) + for serving Condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg powder
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
- 1 tablespoon Chopped almonds
- for decorating Silver leaf
Method
- Crush green gram in a food processor coarsely.
- Heat 3 tbsps ghee in a non-stick pan. Add crushed green gram and sauté for ½ hour.
- Add milk, stir to mix and cook till the milk reduces.
- Take bread slices and cut out roundels from them using a medium size cookie cutter.
- Heat remaining ghee in another non-stick pan. Place bread roundels on it and shallow-fry till evenly golden from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Add Milkmaid to green gram and mix well. Add cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, raisins and chopped almonds and mix well. Cook till the mixture turns golden.
- Place fried bread roundels on a serving dish and put spoonful on Milkmaid on each. Make quennels of the cooked green gram mixture and place on each roundel. Decorate with silver leaf.
- Serve immediately.
