Ingredients list for Sesame Brittle or Til Gajjak
- 1 cup Sesame seeds (til)
- 3/4 cup Sugar powder
- 1/4 cup Almonds chopped
- Coconut grated
- 2 teaspoons Ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf)
Method
- Heat a tawa and dry roast the sesame seeds. Remove and heat and set aside.
- On the same tawa dry roast almond and coconut for two minutes till lightly golden. Place a silver foil in top of a tray and grease it lightly with little ghee.
- Heat the remaining ghee in a non stick pan add the powdered sugar and stir continuously on low heat. Add cardamom powder and fennel seeds and the dried nuts. Mix well.
- Add the sesame seeds and mix again.Remove on the prepared tray and spread the mixture evenly to a thin layer.Cut with a sharp knife and let it cool. Store in airtight container.
