Ingredients list for Sausage Pizza

  • Chicken Sausages
  • 2 cups Refined Flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 5 grams Fresh yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • FOR SAUCE
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 2 cups Tomato concasse
  • 1/2 cup Tomato puree
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • a pinch Dry oregano
  • 4-5 Basil leaves
  • FOR TOPPING
  • 4-5 Spicy chicken sausages
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Red chillies crushed
  • a few Basil leaves
  • 8 teaspoons Olive oil

Method

  1. Sift refined flour with salt and make a well in the centre. Dissolve yeast in 1 tbsp lukewarm water along with sugar and pour into the well. Add ¾ cup chilled water and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside at room temperature till it doubles in size. For the sauce, heat olive oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté. Chop onion and add. Sauté till soft. Add tomato concasse, tomato puree, salt, sugar, oregano and mix.
  2. Tear a few fresh basil leaves and add. Let it cook till it reaches a sauce consistency. Drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil and knock back the dough lightly, divide into 4 equal portions and set aside for about 20 minutes in a warm place. For topping slice onions and crush lightly.
  3. Slice sausages diagonally. Heat a non-stick pan. Spread one portion of the dough on a work top to make a round of the pan size. Put it in the pan. Spread some of the sauce all over. Spread the sausages, onions, mozzarella cheese and sprinkle crushed red chillies and basil leaves.
