Ingredients list for Sakhar Bhaat
- 1 1/2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Basmati rice soaked
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup Ghee
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon Saffron (kesar) soaked in warm milk
- 1 tablespoon Almond slivers
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
Method
- Dissolve sugar in half a cup of water and keep aside. Add lemon juice to it.
- Reserve 1 tablespoon ghee and heat the remaining ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cloves and rice, sauté for 2 minutes over medium heat. Add 2 cups of hot water. Mix well and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add sugar syrup and stir well.
- Add cardamom powder and saffron milk. Mix well, cover and cook till dry.
- Reserve some of the dry fruits and add the remaining along with the reserved ghee. Mix well, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with reserved dry fruits.
