Restaurant Style Yellow Gravy

This flavourful gravy can be used to cook vegetables as well as chicken, mutton or eggs too. Serve this with any Indian bread of your choice. This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup green peas, boiled
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 3 medium onions
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • Roughly chopped spring onion greens for garnishing

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  2. Quarter onions and put into a chopper, finely chop them, add to the pan and sauté till brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and 1 tbsp water and mix well. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and mix well.
  3. Add tomato puree, mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes. Add 3 cups water and mix well. Add salt.
  4. Mix together wheat flour and 3 tbsps water in a bowl till smooth and add to the pan. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Blend with a hand blender in the pan itself till smooth.
  5. Add green peas and mix well. Quarter potatoes, add and mix well. Simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with spring onion greens and serve immediately.
