Ingredients
- 8 large onions, thickly sliced
- 4 tablespoons oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp
Method
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add onions and sauté till they begin to change colour.
- Add salt, garlic paste and ginger paste. Stir and continue to sauté till lightly browned.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli power and stir. Add a quarter cup of water and mix.
- Add tamarind pulp and mix. Reduce heat, cover and cook for three to four minutes. Serve hot.
