By Sanjeev Kapoor 01 Sep 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Prawns (medium), Thick coconut milk Cuisine Thai Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Prawns in Coconut Sauce Thai Style 300 grams Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined with tails intact 1 cup Thick coconut milk 2 Fresh red chillies chopped 1 medium Onion chopped 1 cup Galangal chopped 1 Lemon grass stalk chopped 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder 8 Basil leaves shredded 1 teaspoon Fish sauce 2 teaspoons Lemon juice to taste Salt for garnishing Spring onion greens chopped Method Grind together red chillies, onion, galangal and lemon grass to a fine paste. Heat a non-stick wok, add the paste and cook, stirring continuously. Sprinkle a little water and cook further for 2-3 minutes. Add turmeric powder and ½ cup water. Stir to mix and bring the mixture to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Stir in coconut milk. Add prawns and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes. Add basil leaves, fish sauce and lemon juice, mix well and simmer for a minute. Adjust salt and mix well.
