  • 3 Large potatoes peeled
  • 4 teaspoons Cornflour
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black peppercorns crushed
  • 1 Fresh thyme sprig
  • to cook Oil
  • to cook Butter
  • to serve Tomato ketchup
  • to serve Mustard sauce


  1. Grate potatoes in a bowl. Add cornflour, salt, crushed black peppercorns and fresh thyme, and mix well.
  2. Heat a little oil in a non-stick pan, place a medium size cookie cutter, put a portion of potato mixture, flatten to make a small thick disc and gently remove the cookie cutter. Drizzle some butter all around and cook on medium heat, turning sides, till both sides are evenly golden and crisp. Drain them on absorbent paper. Similarly cook the rest.
  3. Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup and mustard sauce.
