Ingredients list for Picnic Chicken
- 750 grams Chicken on the bone cut into 12 pieces
- 4-5 Dried red chillies
- 7-8 cloves Garlic
- 1 1/2 inch pieces Ginger
- 4 Stick Cinnamon
- 6-8 Cloves
- 2 Black cardamoms
- 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 2 medium Onions
- 2 medium Potatoes
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
Method
- Roughly chop onions, garlic and ginger and put into a mixer jar.
- Dry roast, cinnamon, cloves, black cardamoms, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds.
- Put red chillies in the mixer jar.Heat oil in a non stick pan. Slice potatoes into thin roundels and saute in the pan.
- Add the roasted spices to the mixer jar and grind everything to a smooth paste with a little water.
- Sprinkle a little salt, a pinch of turmeric power and red chilli powder over the potato slices. Cover and cook.
- Place chicken in a bowl, add salt and remaining turmeric powder and mix.
- Add this to the potatoes in the pan and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes.Add the ground paste and mix. Cover and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes. Serve hot.
