Ingredients list for Peas and Paneer Cigars
- 1 cup Green peas boiled and mashed
- ½ cup Paneer (cottage cheese) crumbled
- 8 Samosa patti
- + to deep fry Oil 2 teaspoons
- ¼ cup Spring onions with greens finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Green chilli paste
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds crushed
- ¼ cup Processed cheese grated
- 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)
Method
- Heat two teaspoons oil in a non-stick pan. Add the spring onions and sauté on medium heat for a few seconds.
- Add the garlic-green chilli paste, mix and sauté for a minute. Add the green peas, cottage cheese, salt and crushed cumin seeds, mix well and cook for two minutes.
- Add the cheese, mix and let it melt completely. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Take the refined flour in a bowl. Add some water and mix into a thick slurry.
- Place a portion of the prepared green peas-cottage cheese onto each samosa patti. Rolland shape into cigar. Apply the slurry and seal the edges.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry in the cigarstill golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with your choice of sauce.
