Ingredients list for Peas and Paneer Cigars

  • 1 cup Green peas boiled and mashed
  • ½ cup Paneer (cottage cheese) crumbled
  • 8 Samosa patti
  • + to deep fry Oil 2 teaspoons
  • ¼ cup Spring onions with greens finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Green chilli paste
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds crushed
  • ¼ cup Processed cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)


  1. Heat two teaspoons oil in a non-stick pan. Add the spring onions and sauté on medium heat for a few seconds.
  2. Add the garlic-green chilli paste, mix and sauté for a minute. Add the green peas, cottage cheese, salt and crushed cumin seeds, mix well and cook for two minutes.
  3. Add the cheese, mix and let it melt completely. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Take the refined flour in a bowl. Add some water and mix into a thick slurry.
  5. Place a portion of the prepared green peas-cottage cheese onto each samosa patti. Rolland shape into cigar. Apply the slurry and seal the edges.
  6. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry in the cigarstill golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Serve hot with your choice of sauce.
