Ingredients list for Pearl Spot Mappas
- 1/2 kilogram Pearl Spot (karimeen), cut into small pieces
- 2 tablespoons Coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- a few Curry leaves
- 1/2 kilogram Onion , chopped
- 1 tablespoon Ginger, chopped
- 2-3 Green chilli, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 cup Thin coconut milk
- 1/2 cup Thick coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon Fenugreek powder , roasted
Method
- Heat oil in anon-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add curry leaves, onion, ginger and green chillies. Mix well and saute till onion is soft.
- Add turmeric powder, salt and thin coconut milk. Stir to mix and bring it to a boil.
- Add fish pieces and mix well. Cook till the fish is soft.
- Reduce the heat and add thick coconut milk and fenugreek powder.
- Mix well and remove from heat. Serve hot.
