Ingredients list for Mushroom Pulao

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 24 Button Mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Green cardamoms
  • 4 Cloves
  • 12 inch sticks Cinnamon
  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 Green chillies, sliced
  • 1 medium Tomato, chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 cup Coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup Coriander and mint chutney, chopped


  1. In a pressure cooker heat butter, add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, star anise and saute well till fragrant.
  2. Add rice and saute well for a minute. Add onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and tomatoes. Mix well. Add mushrooms and saute again.
  3. Add salt, coconut milk, water and chopped mint and coriander leaves. Mix well. Allow it to cook till three whistles.
