Ingredients                 

  • 1 cup whole green gram (sabut moong), soaked, boiled
  • 8 brown bread slices                        
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons chaat masala
  • 1 tablespoon pav bhaji masala
  • Coriander-mint chutney, as required
  • Butter to cook
  • 1 medium onion, cut into thin roundels, layers separated 

Method 

  1. Chop onion finely and put into a bowl and add green gram. Crush boiled potatoes and add.
  2. Add salt, chaat masala and pav bhaji masala and mix well mashing slightly.
  3. Apply coriander-mint chutney on all the bread slices.  Spread gram mixture generously on 4 slices and cover them with the remaining. 
    Apply a little butter on outer sides of the sandwiches.
  4. Grease a sandwich toaster with butter or oil or ghee, place a sandwich in it, close and cook on medium heat, turning sides till both sides are golden.
  5. Cut into 2 triangles, arrange on serving plate, garnish with onion rings and serve hot.
