Moong Dal Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups skinless split green gram (moong dal), soaked overnight
  • ½ inch ginger, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of baking powder
  • Oil for drizzling
  • Pizza sauce as required
  • Coloured capsicum dices as required
  • Blanched sweet corn as required
  • Onion dices as required
  • Sliced mushrooms as required
  • 1-2 slices of jalapenos
  • Grated mozzarella cheese as required
  • Red chilli flakes for garnish
  • Dried oregano for garnish

Method

  1. In a blender jar, add moong dal, ginger, green chillies, salt and sufficient water, blend to a smooth batter. 
  2. Transfer the prepared batter into a bowl, a pinch of baking powder, mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan, pour a portion of the batter and spread it evenly to make a thick pancake. Drizzle a little oil and cook till the base is completely cooked.
  4. Flip the pancake and drizzle oil, apply pizza sauce, add coloured capsicums, sweet corns, onion, mushrooms and jalapenos. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese, cover and cook till the cheese melts.
  5. Transfer to a serving plate, garnish with red chilli flakes and dried oregano. Serve hot.
