You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Mayonnaise Recipe

  • Eggs 2

  • Vinegar 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 200 millilitres

  • Salt to taste

  • Mustard paste 1/2 teaspoon

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Powdered sugar 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Separate egg yolks from the whites. Place egg yolks in another bowl and add vinegar. Blend well with a hand blender, adding oil, little by little.

Step 2

Add salt, mustard paste, pepper powder and sugar. Mix well and refrigerate for an hour.

Step 3

Use as required.
