Ingredients list for Masala Puri-SK Khazana

  • 1 1/2 cups Dried white peas (matra) soaked overnight and drained
  • 4 Medium potatoes boiled and peeled
  • 12-16 Crisp puris
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Roasted cumin seeds coarsely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • to taste Black salt
  • to sprinkle Nylon sev
  • to sprinkle Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Pressure cook dried white peas with turmeric powder and salt in sufficient water till 4 whistles are given out or till fully done.
  2. Cut potatoes into small pieces.
  3. Mix together cumin seeds, chaat masala and black salt in a bowl.
  4. Add little water to pressure cooked white peas, mix well and bring to a boil.
  5. Crack the top portion of puris and fill with some potato pieces and some cooked white peas. Sprinkle some spice mix, sev and coriander leaves on top.
  6. Serve immediately.
