Ingredients 

  • 4 Kingfish darnes
  • 1 teaspoon Malvani masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind pulp
  • Salt to taste
  • Semolina for coating
  • Oil to shallow fry
  • Lemon slices to garnish
  • Fresh coriander sprigs to garnish

Method

  1. Take garlic paste in a bowl, add malvani masala powder, turmeric powder, tamarind pulp and salt and mix well.
  2. Apply this mixture on both sides of the fish darnes and set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Take semolina on a plate, place the fish darnes in it and coat both sides of the darnes well.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan, place the fish darnes in it and shallow fry, turning sides till golden brown on both sides. Transfer onto a serving plate.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices and coriander sprigs and serve hot.
