Ingredients list for Mac n Cheese Sandwich

  • 8 slices Brown bread
  • 2 cups Macaroni , boiled
  • 50 grams Processed cheese
  • 2 tablespo as required Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 1/2 cups Milk
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/4 cup Chopped mixed capsicums (red and green) , chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoons Corn kernels , boiled
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a non-stick pan. Add flour and sauté for 1 minute without letting the colour change. Add milk, mix till smooth and cook till the mixture thickens.
  2. Grate in cheese, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring continuously. Add salt, crushed peppercorns, mixed capsicums, corn kernels and mix well.
  3. Add macaroni, mix and cook for 1-2 minutes. Adjust salt and mix well.
  4. Preheat an electric grill toaster.
  5. Apply some butter on one side of each bread slice. Spread some mac n cheese mixture on the unbuttered side of half bread slices and cover with remaining bread slices with unbuttered side downwards.
  6. Place these sandwiches in the preheated grill toaster, cover and grill till they are evenly golden on both sides and grill marks appear.
  7. Cut each sandwich into 2 equal triangles, arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
