Ingredients list for Kulcha - SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Refined flour (maida)
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Castor sugar
- 1 tablespo for basting Butter melted
- 1/4 cup Milk
- as required Onion seeds (kalonji)
Method
- Sieve together refined flour, salt, baking powder into a bowl.
- Add castor sugar, melted butter and milk, mix well, add sufficient water and knead into soft dough.
- Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 200˚C.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll out into kulchas.
- Place the kulchas on a baking tray, baste with butter and sprinkle some onion seeds over the kulchas.
- Put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8 minutes, basting with butter after 2-3 minutes.
- Bring the tray out of the oven, arrange the kulchas on a serving platter and serve hot with jeera aloo.
