Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Kesar Pista Chai - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Saffron strands a few + to garnish

  • Pistachios blanched & peeled to garnish

  • Milk 250 millilitres

  • Green cardamoms 4-5

  • Tea leaves 2 tablespoons

  • Sugar 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan till it come to a boil. Remove and set aside.

Step 2

Boil 1½ cups water in another deep non-stick pan. Crush green cardamoms and add. Add tea leaves, sugar and saffron, mix and let the mixture boil for a minute.

Step 3

Add some of the boiled milk and boil the tea till it becomes frothy.

Step 4

Strain the tea into 4 serving glasses. Add the froth on top.

Step 5

Garnish with pistachios and saffron strands and serve hot.
