Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Caraway seeds (shahi jeera) to sprinkle
- 170 grams salted butter, softened
- 100 grams powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 190 grams refined flour (maida)
- 100 grams rice flour
- 2 tablespoons chopped mixed nuts (almonds and pistachios) + to sprinkle
- White sesame seeds (safed til) to sprinkle
- Sea salt to sprinkle
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Take butter and powdered sugar in a bowl and cream with a wooden spoon till the mixture becomes light in colour.
- Add vanilla essence and cumin seeds and mix well. Sift together refined flour, rice flour into the butter mixture. Add mixed nuts and mix well. Sprinkle little water and make medium soft dough.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into thick discs.
- Grease a baking tray with oil. Place the discs on it. Sprinkle caraway seeds, white sesame seeds and sea salt and press lightly. Sprinkle chopped mixed nuts and press lightly.
- Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool.
- Arrange on a serving platter and serve.
