Ingredients list for Jain Brownies
- 1 cup + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
- ½ cup Cocoa powder
- for greasing Ghee
- a pinch Salt
- 4 tablespoons Walnuts chopped
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- ½ teaspoon Instant coffee powder
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- ? cup Melted butter
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla essence
Method
- Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease an aluminum baking tin with ghee and dust with some refined flour.
- Sieve flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, powdered sugar and coffee powder in a bowl, one by one.
- Take buttermilk in another bowl. Add butter and whisk well. Add this mixture to the flour mixture along with vanilla essence and whisk well into a smooth batter. Add 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts and mix well.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin and tap a little. Garnish with remaining walnuts.
- Put the tin the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Remove from heat, cool and demould. Cut into wedges and serve warm.
