Ingredients list for Hulianna Masala-SK Khazana

  • 1/4 cup Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 2 tablespoons Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
  • 4 Green cardamoms
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon broken
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
  • 4-5 Dried red chillies


  1. Dry roast Bengal gram and black gram, one by one, till browned. Transfer into a bowl.
  2. In the same pan, dry roast cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds and roast for 2 minutes. Add dried red chillies and roast till fragrant. Transfer into the same bowl.
  3. Mix and let them cool down to room temperature.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a grinder jar and grind to a coarse powder.
  5. Cool completely and store in an airtight container to use as required.
