Ingredients list for Honey Sesame Chicken
- 2 Boneless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup Honey
- ¼ cup White sesame seeds
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
- 1 Egg
- for garnishing Spring onion greens finely chopped
Method
- Cut chicken in thin strips and put in a bowl. Add salt, ginger-garlic paste, crushed peppercorns, soy sauce and chillies and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Toast sesame seeds in a non-stick pan till fragrant.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Add cornstarch to the marinated chicken and mix well. Deep-fry the chicken strips in hot oil till crisp and golden brown on all the sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Pour a ladleful of the same oil in another non-stick pan, break egg and add along with salt and crushed peppercorns and cook till the egg is done.
- Put the fried egg on a serving plate, place the fried chicken on it, pour honey over it, sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds, garnish with spring onion greens and serve immediately.
