Ingredients list for Green Gram Upma
- 1 cup Rice
- 1 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 cup Whole green grams (sabut moong)
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 inch Ginger chopped
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- to taste Salt
Method
- Grind the rice and moong dal to a coarse powder.
- Heat two tablespoons oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, urad dal and cumin seeds and saute for a minute.
- Add ginger, green chillies and curry leaves and saute for a minute.Add four cups water and bring it to boil. Add the rice and dal powder and keep stirring continuously.
- Cover and cook for ten to fifteen minutes. Add the remaining oil, cover and cook more for five minutes. Serve hot.
