Yes, though other meats being more common, biryani eaters all over the world can easily swear by mutton. And not just biryanis, curries, bakes and all other preparations with this wonderful meat are always special. Did you know, unlike other dishes, a day-old mutton prep will always be all the more tastier on the palate! Try it the next time you plan on to take on this meat.

Ingredients for Gosht ki Chutney - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Boneless mutton cut into 2 inch pieces 500 grams

  • Salt teaspoon

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies 2

  • Mutton masala 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tablespoon

  • Oil 1/4 cup

  • Rotis to serve

Method

Step 1

Put mutton in a pressure cooker, add salt, ginger-garlic paste, slit green chillies and sufficient water and place the lid on. Switch the heat on and cook under pressure till 7-8 whistles are released.

Step 2

Open the lid once the pressure has reduced completely. Transfer only the mutton pieces into a bowl and let them cool down to room temperature. You can use the stock in some other dish.

Step 3

Shred the mutton with a fork. Add Meat Masala, a little salt and red chilli powder and mix well.

Step 4

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add the mutton and mix well. Reduce heat to medium and saute, stirring occasionally, for 10-15 minutes or till the mutton pieces are slightly crisp.

Step 5

Cool and transfer into an air-tight container or serve hot with rotis, onion wedges and lemon wedges.
