Ingredients list for Gajar Aur Khajur Ka Halwa
- 8-10 medium Carrots grated
- 3/4 cup Dates seeded and chopped
- Olive oil
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 2 cup Skimmed milk
- 1/2 cup Khoya/mawa
- 8-10 Cashewnuts chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- 8-10 Almonds, blanched and slivered
Method
- Heat olive oil in a kadai (wok). Add grated carrots and sugar and cook for about five minutes.
- Add milk and continue to cook for six to eight minutes.
- Add khoya (reduced milk), dates, cashewnuts and green cardamom powder and mix.
- Cook for ten to fifteen minutes or till almost dry. Serve hot garnished with almond slivers.
