Ingredients for Fried Calamari Recipe

  • Medium calamari (squids) cleaned and cut into ½ cm rings 4-5

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Refined flour 1 cup

  • Cornflakes powdered 1/2 cup

  • Fresh thyme sprigs chopped 2-3

  • Paprika powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic powder 1 teaspoon

  • Onion powder 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Tartar sauce to serve


Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan.

Step 2

Take refined flour in a large bowl, add powdered cornflakes, thyme, paprika powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper powder and salt and mix well.

Step 3

Add the calamari and mix till they are well coated. Pass it through a sieve to dust off excess flour.

Step 4

Slide the calamari into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with tartar sauce.
