Ingredients
- 4-5 medium squids, cleaned and cut into ½ cm rings
- 1 cup refined flour
- 1 cup cornflakes, powdered
- 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Black pepper powder to taste
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- Tartare sauce to serve
Method
- Heat oil to deep fry.
- In a large bowl, add refined flour, cornflakes, thyme, paprika powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add the calamari and mix well to coat. Pass it through a sieve to dust off the excess flour.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry squid rings till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tartare sauce.
