Ingredients
- 500 grams fish fillets cut into 2-inch pieces
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- ½ lemon
- 2 eggs
- Refined flour for coating
- Dried breadcrumbs for coating
- Oil for deep-frying
- Fresh parsley chopped for garnish
- Tartar sauce to serve
Method
- Take the fish pieces in a large bowl, and add crushed black peppercorns, salt and ginger-garlic paste. Squeeze the juice of ½ lemon into it and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, break 2 eggs into another bowl. Add salt and crushed black peppercorns and whisk well with a fork.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Spread refined flour on one plate and dried breadcrumbs on another plate.
- Coat each fish piece with flour, dip in the egg mixture and roll in the breadcrumbs.
- Slide the fish pieces, a few at a time, into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Transfer onto a serving plate, garnish with parsley and serve hot with tartar sauce.
