You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for EGG TIKKA - skk Recipe

  • Eggs hard boiled and peeled 8

  • Melted butter to greast for basting

  • Hung yogurt 3 tablespoons

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Garam masala powder 2 teaspoons

  • Dried fenugreek leaves powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard oil 1 tablespoon

  • Roasted gram flour 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Onion ringds to serve

  • Green chutney to serve

  • Lemon wedges to serve

Method

Step 1

Take hung yogurt in a bowl, add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, dried fenugreek leaves powder, salt, lemon juice, mustard oil and gram flour and mix well.

Step 2

Prick boiled eggs with a fork and add to this mixture, mix gently and set aside for 20-25 minutes.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 200˚ C. Grease a baking tray with melted butter.

Step 4

Halve the marinated eggs vertically, place them on the baking tray cut side upwards and apply the remaining prepared mixture on the eggs.

Step 5

Brush a little melted butter on top of each egg piece, keep the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. .

Step 6

Transfer the egg tikka onto a serving platter, garnish with onion rings and serve with green chutney and lemon wedge.
