Ingredients list for Doodhi Halwa
- 500 grams Bottle Gourd
- 3 cups Milk
- 3-4 tablespoons Pure ghee
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 10 Cashewnuts chopped
- 10 Pistachios chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
- tablespoons Vermicelli coloured
Method
- Peel gourd, scrape out the seeds. Grate it finely. Heat milk and reduce to around two cups.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add the grated gourd and sauté for five to seven minutes.
- Add reduced milk and cook, stirring continuously, till all the liquid content has evaporated.
- Add sugar, cashewnuts and pistachios and green cardamom powder.
- Cook till the sugar dissolves and the mixture is semi dry.
- Serve hot or cold garnished with coloured vermicelli.
