This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 06 Aug 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal), Khoya/mawa Cuisine Punjabi Course Mithais Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Dal Pinni 1 1/4 cups Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal) 3/4 cup Khoya/mawa grated 2 1/2 tablespoons Semolina (rawa/suji) 1/2 teaspoon Whole wheat flour (atta) 1 1/2 tablespoons Gram flour (besan) 1 cup Sugar 3/4 cup Ghee 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder 2 tablespoons Chocolate powder A few for Almonds Method Soak urad dal overnight, drain and grind without water. Heat ghee in a kadai. Add semolina, wheat flour, gram flour and mix. Add urad dal, mix well and sauté for 15-20 minutes on low heat, stirring continuously, till the mixture becomes brown. Add sugar, khoya and cook. Add green cardamom powder and mix. Turn off the heat, add chocolate powder and mix. Shape the mixture, with the help of two spoons, into a pinni. Make other pinnis in a similar way. Garnish with almonds and serve.
