Ingredients list for Curried Mushroom Khari

  • 16-20 Khari biscuits
  • 2 cups Button mushrooms chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Processed cheese grated
  • 3 tablespoons Fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to garnish Fresh coriander sprig


  1. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let their colour change.
  2. Add green chillies, mix and sauté for 30 seconds. Add garlic, mix and sauté till it turns light brown.
  3. Add onion, mix and sauté till it turns translucent. Add curry powder and dried fenugreek leaves and mix well.
  4. Add mushrooms, mix and cook for a minute. Add salt, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add processed cheese and mix. Add cream and coriander leaves and mix well.
  6. Break a little portion on top of each khari to make a cavity and place them on a serving platter. Fill the mushroom mixture into the cavities and garnish with coriander sprigs. Serve immediately.
