Creamy Spinach Pizza

Pizza base topped with a creamy spinach sauce, mozzarella cheese and pinenuts and baked. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Creamy Spinach Pizza

  • 1 medium bunch Spinach leaves (palak) shredded
  • as required Mozzarella cheese grated
  • as required Dough for pizza
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • + for dusting Refined flour (maida) 1 tablespoon
  • 1 cup Milk
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons Pine nuts(chilgoza)


  1. Preheat oven to 180° C.
  2. To prepare creamy spinach, heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add 1 tablespoon garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon flour and sauté for 30 seconds. Add ½ cup milk, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add spinach leaves, mix and cook for 30 seconds. Add remaining milk, mix and cook till mixture thickens. Add salt and mix well.
  4. Divide the dough into 2 equal portions.
  5. Dust the worktop with some flour and roll out each portion into ½ cm thick sheet.
  6. Dust a baking tray with some flour, transfer the sheet on it and dork using a fork.
  7. Take remaining garlic in a bowl. Add olive oil and mix. Brush the mixture on top of the sheet.
  8. Put the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 5-8 minutes or till light golden. Remove from oven and spread some creamy spinach and mozzarella cheese on top. Sprinkle pine nuts and crushed peppercorns on top.
  9. Put the baking tray back into the preheated oven and bake till cheese melts.
  10. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
