Ingredients list for Coconut and Urad Dal Laddoo
- 2 1/2 cup Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) soaked overnight and drained
- Coconut powder 2 tablespoons + for coating
- 8 tablespoons Ghee
- 10-12 Almonds roughly chopped
- 10-12 Cashewnuts roughly chopped
- 1 cup Sugar
- 2 Green cardamoms
- 2 teaspoon Raisins
Method
- Grind black gram with sufficient water to a fine paste.
- Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a non-stick pan, add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté till lightly browned.
- Heat remaining ghee in another non-stick pan, add the ground gram and mix well. Cook on low heat till lightly browned stirring continuously.
- Grind together sugar and green cardamom to a fine powder and add to the pan.
- Add fried dried fruits, raisins and coconut powder and mix well.
- Transfer this into a bowl and shape the mixture into laddoos.
- Take sufficient coconut powder on a plate and coat the prepared laddoos into it.
- Serve.
