Ingredients list for Coconut and Urad Dal Laddoo

  • 2 1/2 cup Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) soaked overnight and drained
  • Coconut powder 2 tablespoons + for coating
  • 8 tablespoons Ghee
  • 10-12 Almonds roughly chopped
  • 10-12 Cashewnuts roughly chopped
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Green cardamoms
  • 2 teaspoon Raisins


  1. Grind black gram with sufficient water to a fine paste.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons ghee in a non-stick pan, add almonds and cashewnuts and sauté till lightly browned.
  3. Heat remaining ghee in another non-stick pan, add the ground gram and mix well. Cook on low heat till lightly browned stirring continuously.
  4. Grind together sugar and green cardamom to a fine powder and add to the pan.
  5. Add fried dried fruits, raisins and coconut powder and mix well.
  6. Transfer this into a bowl and shape the mixture into laddoos.
  7. Take sufficient coconut powder on a plate and coat the prepared laddoos into it.
  8. Serve.
