Ingredients list for Cinnamon Rolls
- 1 tablespoon Cinnamon powder
- 4 cups + for dusting Refined flour (maida)
- 3 teaspoon Yeast
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Milk warm
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- ? cup brown sugar/jaggery
- 3 Eggs
- Butter for brushing
- for dusting Icing sugar
Method
- Preheat oven at 180ºC.
- Take refined flour in a bowl. Make a well in the centre and add the yeast and salt.
- Take milk in a bowl. Add sugar and 1 egg.
- Separate the whites from the yolks from remaining eggs and add the whites to the milk mixture. Mix well.
- Add milk mixture, little by little, to the flour mixture. Mix and knead well. Add oil and knead into a soft dough. Set aside to prove fro 10-15 minutes.
- Dust the worktop with flour. Place the knocked back dough on it and roll out into a large rectangle.
- Take brown sugar in a bowl. Add cinnamon powder and mix well.
- Melt butter and spread onto the rolled out dough. Sprinkle sugar-cinnamon mixture evenly on top and roll tightly into a cylinder. Cut into medium thick slices and place on a baking tray. Cover with a wet muslin cloth and set aside to prove again for 10 minutes.
- Remove cloth and brush the rolls with butter. Put the tray in preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or till the rolls turn golden.
- Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.
