Ingredients list for Chocolate, Raisin And Nut Drop Cookies
- 1/4 cup Dark Chocolate
- 1 cup Raisins
- 1 cup Almonds chopped
- 1 1/2 cups Refined flour (maida)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 1/3 cups Castor sugar (caster sugar)
- 100 grams Butter
- Egg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5. Grease a baking tray. Sift together the flour and baking powder. In a pan heat the chocolate and one- third cup sugar with half a cup of water until melted and smooth.
- Set aside to cool. Cream the butter in a bowl until soft. Add the remaining sugar and cream till the mixture turns light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Stir in the chocolate mixture and vanilla essence.
- Fold in the flour mixture and mix until smooth. Add the raisins and almonds and mix well. Drop tablespoons of the batter in small mounds well apart onto the greased tray. Bake for about eight minutes.
- Remove from the oven and transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight tin.
