Ingredients list for Chilli Basil Fish
- 2 Boneless basa fish fillets cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons Fresh red chillies
- 20-25 Fresh basil leaves
- 5 tablespoons Oil
- 2 Medium onion
- 3/4 Medium red capsicum
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoons Cornflour
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried red chillies crushed
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed
- 2 teaspoons Oyster sauce
Method
- Heat 3 tbsps oil in a non-stick pan. Cut onions into cubes, separate layers and add to the pan.
- Cut red capsicum into ½ inch pieces and add to the pan and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Place fish in a bowl, add salt, cornflour, crushed dried red chillies, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
- Transfer onion-red capsicum into a bowl.
- Heat 2 tbsps oil in the same pan. Crush fresh red chillies.
- Put fish pieces, one by one, into the pan. Sprinkle crushed black peppercorns over them and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add fresh red chillies minus the seeds. Add oyster sauce and basil leaves. Add onion-red capsicum mixture and mix well.
- Sprinkle a little salt and mix and cook for 1 minute.
- Transfer into a serving plate and serve hot.
