Ingredients
- 6 raw mangoes
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
Method
- Peel and grate mangoes in a bowl. Add salt and mix and set aside for 2 hours.
- Add turmeric powder and sugar and mix well. Cover tightly with a muslin cloth and keep in the sun for 7 days or till one string consistency is formed. Keep mixing every day.
- Dry roast cumin seeds till fragrant. Grind to a coarse powder, add to the mangoes along with red chilli powder and mix well. Cover tightly with a muslin cloth and keep in the sun for 1 day.
- Serve or store in airtight container.
