Ingredients list for Cheesy Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 12-16 medium Button mushrooms
  • to deep fry Oil 1 tablespoon +
  • 10-12 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 medium onions chopped
  • 3-4 Green chillies chopped
  • ¼ cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper powder
  • 1¼ cups Processed cheese
  • ¾ cup Refined flour (maida) sieved
  • 2-3 cups Bread crumbs

Method

  1. Remove stems from mushrooms and chop them. Make a cavity in each mushroom cap with the tip of a knife. Set aside.
  2. Heat one tablespoon oil in a pan. Add garlic and onions sauté till translucent. Add chopped mushroom stems and green chillies. Cook until all the moisture evaporates.
  3. Add coriander leaves, salt and black pepper powder. Sauté for a minute. Remove from heat and add cheese and mix.
  4. Stuff the mushrooms caps with this mixture.
  5. Take refined flour in a bowl. Add sufficient water to make a batter of coating consistency. Add salt to taste.
  6. Spread the breadcrumbs in a plate. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  7. Dip the mushrooms in the batter and then roll in the breadcrumbs to coat evenly. Repeat the procedure once again.
  8. Deep-fry till golden brown. Drain and place them on an absorbent paper.
  9. Cut into two and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
