Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Whichever form, this is one food that is loved by one and all!

Cook time : 16-20 minutes

Ingredients for Cheesy Kababs Recipe

  • Processed cheese grated 1/4 cup

  • Onion finely chopped 1/2 medium

  • Green chilli chopped 1

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Cumin powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • White bread slices 12

  • Oil to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Mix together grated cheese, onion, green chilli, coriander leaves, cumin powder, chilli powder and keep aside.

Step 2

Trim the edges of bread slices, dip them in water and remove immediately.

Step 3

Place them between your palms and gently press out the excess water.

Step 4

Place a tablespoon of cheese mixture in the center of each bread slice and roll to make a kabab.

Step 5

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the kababs till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Serve hot.
