Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Ingredients for Cheesy Corn Slices Recipe

  • Mozzarella Cheese grated 1 cup

  • Corn Kernels Tinned tinned 1/2 cup

  • French loaf thinly sliced 1

  • Butter 5 tablespoons

  • Garlic crushed 8 cloves

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Oregano dried 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns crushed 5-6

  • Tomatoes sliced 2

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200º C for ten minutes.

Step 2

Beat butter in a bowl until smooth, add crushed garlic, coriander leaves, oregano and half the crushed peppercorns.

Step 3

Apply this butter on the French bread slices. Place the tomato slices on each bread slice and sprinkle some salt and the remaining crushed peppercorns.

Step 4

Place the corn kernels over the tomato slices and sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Step 5

Grill in the oven for ten minutes or until the cheese melts and turns golden.

Step 6

Serve hot.
